I am in the process of adding more value/depth to the background, and I will be adding one more flower in either the upper right or left corner. I wanted the background to be simplistic, but I'm currently trying to make sure the background and collaged drawings look cohesive while still maintaining that goal. That has been my main struggle with this project, so do you guys have any advice? Thanks!
I like the dark red coloring contrasting the very light blue background. If you want cohesion between the background and collages drawings, I would try to just use the some of the same materials on both so they fit a bit better with the rest of the piece. They can still have a unique quality to them though. (btw, remember to label your post with "5BC" tag, if you edit your post you will see a label option on the right side of the screen. You should see the label in orange next to your post title on the "My Blogs" page).
ReplyDeleteTo keep it cohesive, maybe use the same colors in the collaging that you have already. You could also just collage in some areas to keep it minimal. So far, the background looks like spray paint to me, which is really awesome!
ReplyDeleteI love the figures and the petals. They really pop out at me when I looked at your work. Also, I agree with Joanna about the colors in the background. If you keep it within the same color realm, then it should naturally work. Great work :)
ReplyDeleteKeep running with your color scheme and keep that Sofija Style! It's gonna be a super successful piece, I can feel it.
ReplyDeleteI really like the background- I agree with joanna- it reminds me of spray paint! So cool. Maybe some of the background could drip/overlap on top of the collaged drawings, that way it would look more cohesive?
ReplyDeleteThis looks great! I love Mira's idea of dripping the background on top of the drawings, I think it'd come out really well.
ReplyDeleteWow the colors are just so perfect in complementing each other and I just adore your rose and peddles! For the collaged pieces perhaps dye them/ lightly paint over the color you want them to be to establish cohesiveness?
