Okay so theme is act of leaving. Figures will be in color- via acrylics.
Question 1- should I bring color into the background or nah?
Question 2- Tell me things about them proportions.
Lookin good! I feel like if the figures are developed super-well, then the background wouldn't need color, but mayhaps a splash of something complementary if that doesn't work out. The girl's leg seems kinda thin, but it might be the angle of the photo making it look that way. But yeah, rad stuffs you got here.
Lily~ Naah. Leave the background in black and white. And the proportions look fine. Angle of camera's a little weird, so that might be messing with what the photo shows.
The piece is really starting to come together with the addition of color on the figures -- it looks rad! I think I would leave the background as is - it will probably contrast well with the brightly colored figures. Also, I think the girl's legs are too angular - they should curve more - and the knee should be a bit rounder. I'm excited to see the finished product!
I love this so much! I really like the black/white background with the colored figures, it adds contrast and a focal point. I think the proportions for the guy are perfect. For the girl, the legs look a bit short due to seeing the feet. And maybe the legs should curve more.
Love this piece! Love the quoted background and how its a dark neutral colors so that when you paint the characters in color, it'll draw focus to them. So keep that! I agree with haley that the female character looks shorter. Her upper body seems to be longer than her legs. And again agreeing with haley that its due to the fact you can see the feet. You should take it out like you did with the guy.
I like the figures! I think the proportions on the girl is just slightly off, it might just be the pictures but it would help to check. I think there definitely could be a way to define the couple as a focal point such as adding shading around the figures or adding lotsa details to the fabrics and such. Maybe you can recolor the girl's shirt to a warmer color so the eye is naturally drawn to it.
