Heyo! This is piece number 2 of my theme, which I suppose is "Developing a cast of original novel characters through portraiture and diction." Somebody flag me down if the wording is trash.
This character is Draven Law, a contract killer and the deuteragonist of the series. His main deal is that he's made a lot of mistakes in his life, but he continues his job as a murderer for hire to basically set an example of what not to be. His motives are pretty muh a mystery throughout the novel, so all you really need to know is that he travels around with The Black Fox and has dumb adventures. Whoopie.
Question time. I doubt I could ever do anything to make me think it looks good, but I digress. Basically does the background need more value? And is everything decent on the character himself? Lemme know and at least try to act like responding isn't required for a grade.
EDIT: Got the picture to finally show up. I know I'm gonna lose points anyway. Just what I needed right now, technology. Just what I needed.
I love the character's pose and intense glare! I think that you could add more "blood splatters" to integrate the color red. Maybe in the top left corner or over the quote. I really like the monochromatic background, and I think that you could further it by adding a loose watercolor city or landscape or whatever so it sets the scene. Overall, I think you're basically done! The character is perfect. I love the highlights and lowlights.
ReplyDeleteI feel like the background could use s little more color/ detail! or maybe a little bit more contrast of the blues. I really like the blood splatter as well! it adds a nice pop of color and gives your piece a more finished feel! -emma
