Please excuse the atrocity that is this photo quality. In real life, the lines are not blurry, the colors make sense, and the faucet is actually visible, I swear. To finish this, I plan on caging in that cow and the wolf down there in the left corner and adding a few collaged people from that 1938 copy of National Geographic in the stomach up top. Please shower me with your advice, particularly in how to paint metal? If any of you know, please tell me.

I love the colors in your painting-- they remind me of those candy hearts people give on Valentine's day or something...really cool! I think that adding some darker values (maybe in the background?) would make the foreground pop
ReplyDeleteI love the colors you decided to use, they remind me of a candy store as well. Not sure if this tip will help but maybe for the metal adding more highlights and more shades of grey possibly. It looks very great!
ReplyDeleteI also agree that the colors are wondrous! Just push your values in the objects, pay attention to what your light source is, and give them some form!
ReplyDeleteI love the kind of melting rainbow and the college part sounds like it will give it that extra push of pzazz! As for metal perhaps try some blue tones in the silver I think, it could help I read about it in a tutorial.
ReplyDeleteAHHH Colors! Metal is a very difficult picture to recreate in a lot of areas. Keep pushing the values in each of your marvelous colors and make sure that you are defining a clear focal point!
