Hey so the basic idea behind this piece is a commentary on manual labor and how advancements in technology have begun to diminish its place in common society and eventually make it obsolete. At this point I have the background almost done. I was trying to go for that "busy" industrial look with a lot of grays and darks with hints of warm colors in certain areas. I think the gray may have overpowered it for the most part though. Any ideas on how to make the background more natural looking with acryllic paint? Should I be adding more detail to the background?
I love the texture-- It looks very coal mine-y, I think. I really like the background, but I'm not sure what you're making the centerpiece, so I can't tell you if you should add more detail or not.
ReplyDeleteBefore starting background stuff, I would detail your focal point and then see what else is needed. I like the textures you got going.

ReplyDeleteI personally think the background looks really good as is. But if you want it to be more blended you could add some water to blend it out.
