This is my first theme piece: Mythological creatures in intricate detail inspired by a significant word. This one is Freedom. It's a mixture of collaged tissue paper for the wings, paint, ink, and dry brushing. The creature is a Faerie, a winged being said to be mischievous but mostly harmless. Faeries can be dangerous when mad, but get along with almost anything. They are highly curious and can be considered a symbol of good luck.

I really like the body marking that you decided to put on him! It ties in with the whimsical feeling of the piece and his flight pattern. Are you planning on incorporating the word "freedom" in your piece at all? I think that if you decide to do so, doing it in the sky with the same color tissue paper that you used for the wings would look great.
ReplyDeleteI really like all of the thought behind your creature. I like the sky and the little butterflies you finished! Maybe add a little more shading in the pants. Other than that, personally, I think you are done. Nice job!
