My theme includes impressionism with places that I've visited. So for this thematic piece, I choose to do a watchtower that was in Germany. I used watercolor paint, ink, and charcoal so far. To finish, I need to add more values to the sky, journal about the place in ink, and add more dark values to the mountains and town. My intention is to create a dark and loose piece that shows the scrubby plants and how the watchtower goes with the organic growth. What else could I do to improve?
Lily ~ I really like the colors that you have for this watchtower and no, I really can't see anything else that you could fix besides adding values.
ReplyDeleteI love this piece! It's so delicate and yet strong. I think the journaling will look really cool. I might brightening the pavillion and possibly the front of the bushes. Looks good!

ReplyDeleteI absolutely love the detail you put in this piece. it screams out your name! I could definitely tell this was a piece being made by you. maybe you could charcoal to your piece and add detail? I know you're very good with charcoal, just a suggestion! it's looks very neat over all! -emma
