Rachel's Theme #2

Hey-o! So my theme has changed a little bit since last year, I didn't pick a specific artist for my inspiration this time, but a couple of illustrations from a couple of fairy tales I enjoy. (The top two are from my favorite fairy tale book: Grimm's Grimmest.)
For now my theme is "Creating modern fantasy type characters using common archetypes in colored pencil and pen." Also should I add anything in the background of my piece? If so, what should I add? Also should I keep the frame yellow or should it be pink? Thanks guys!

  1. I think the yellow brings out the shine around the woman's head. I like it

  2. Hey o. I like the yellow. I think background is fine. What is this piece going to be about? Also try and work on your wording more cause we aren't suppose to use materials in our statement. Looks good bar

  4. I like the idea a lot and I'm excited to see how it turns out through out the year! I would maybe stick to a color scheme with each character you create so it keeps your theme unified, maybe for the background? It would be cool to create a frame around all the characters that each share something like a small/specific symbol maybe.

  5. Keep thinking about if your characters and the architype that you refer to comment on modern society as well. It could give you that find layer that you need to your theme without using a material in there. Let me know if you need help brainstorming. -Ms.B
