Gstoute Theme Piece 5?
Jfountain theme piece
So heres my theme piece! Considering my theme is Polychromatic expression of problems in todays world, i figured i woukd create a piece that centers around the fact that we are spending way too much money in searching for other planets and their habitats when we havent fully discovered our own planet. The only thing i need to add is a larger ship in the top right region and also all of my ink line work that is going over top of the ships. Does this piece have depth? Should i add more ships or flyig space particles? Any other suggestions? Thanks!

Theme 5 Sofija Chroneos
Theme...5? 4? I lost track.
Hey all! Sorry for posting kinda late. Errands, musical, and whatnot. Excuses? Probably.
Anyways this is my next theme piece, regarding "Developing original novel characters through portraiture and diction." This is Zoltan Masters, the fourth (and final) "protagonist" character of the main party.
In the wonderfully shattered world of Letters From a Thief, if I didn't explain this already, the richest sector is ruled by a militaristic government called the Enforcers and a regime of supersoldiers called the Purveyors. If you want to know all about this crazy literary thinger that I'm creating, just ask me about it. I looooove talking about it. (I actually do that wasn't sarcasm.)
But like they always tend to do, black market traders got their hands on the serum that is used on subjects to turn them into Purveyors. They tampered with it and came up with a different result: beings called Weapons. I will get into the nitty-gritty of what Purveyors are once I get to the Purveyor character I'm painting, but know for now that they're super-good at killing things and enforcing stuffs. Weapons are different only in a few manners; they do not suffer from the same consequences that Purveyor's memory centers suffer, but they do gain a superiority complex. If one of them were to shed blood, they take it as a sign of weakness and imperfection, and go nutso crazy psycho. Hoorah.
But yeah, the main party comes across Zoltan during one of Draven's (project 2) assassination missions, and he's pretty much a foil to Ulysses. He's stern, cold, calculating, and ruthless, claiming that he can sense what someone is thinking and what they will do before they do it.
Yeah alright I should stop rambling on that section. Time to help me improve this shlock.
1) I know I need to layer up with more paint. Where should I do this? (don't say everywhere even though I know you will)
2) Too much blood?
I don't expect many comments since I'm posting this at about 10:30 PM, but I'll take what I can get. Happy arting! AND GO SEE THE MUSICAL.

This is nothing like what I intended in my sketch, but I found it and edited it and wanted to use it for this project instead. I think it goes along my idea for growth for the AP test to decrease the editing that I do. I liked how the blue stood out and contrasted with the yellow at the bottom and the shadows. I'm happy with how it is at the moment, but do you think it is too dark? Also, do you think the blue is too bright?
Mythology Theme: Demon Cat
Lily here~ Ugh. I think this is piece 5. Theme: Mythological Creatures with attention to detail, inspired by a significant word. Demon Cats are well known to look like sweet little creatures, and they're nearly impossible to tell apart from the real thing. However, when a bright light is shone on them, one can see two shadows on the wall. A headless body on one side, usually the left, and the head is on the right. It is said that the body will play with its victim, sort of like a cat plays with a mouse, until s/he is so terrified and paranoid that they won't leave their home. It is then that the head swoops in and consumes them. One can often find stains of blood on both the shadows and around the cat's mouth.
1) Any advice on painting cats?
2) My spotlight is weird. Help me with the stupid thing.

theme project #3
gstoute theme 4
Hey, Anna here. So my piece is sideways and won't let me type text below it but I've been having problems with this so I'm just glad this is working. Anyway, this is a reverse painting that mirrors the painting the painting turned in for the last assignment. My theme is something along the lines of Surreal Stories about Creatures of All Realms and the story here is about a battle between the two men but in reality, it's the same guy, reflecting the idea of fighting yourself and being your own worst enemy. I've been experimenting with textiles, specifically fur, so we'll see how it goes. With my experimenting at home and the watered down acrylic for these two projects, I'd like to eventually experiment with watercolor. As for this project, do you think I should change up the drips for this one or nah? And do you think I could possibly make this more surreal (if it's not surreal enough as it is; I'm not entirely sure)? It's gotta be deep/symbolic though so I can't just throw a pig or something on there just 'cause. Thanks!

JFountain Co-Theme piece
Ok so, basically in response to my previous project with the hobo, jagged lines, and watercolor background, this project is basically the opposite in that there is soft colored pencil and regular pencil lines throughout the piece, i intend on continuing to ink outline the major lines of the piece and also making the smoke from the cigar light and controlled unlike the hobos cigarette which was filthy and all over the place. Lemme know if you see anything missing that I could add. Also, does he look like Bill Gates?
How do you feel?
So my theme is 'expressing psychology and raw emotion through surrealism'. This piece is supposed to be representative of how confusing and abstract feelings are and such. On the black bar I'm planning on writing 'how do you feel?' On it and then stitching the words on the canvas. I really only have one question and it's, how can I make it feel more confused?

Theme Piece 3
For this theme piece, I choose my subject matter to be a window seat I saw in Spain. The media I am using includes charcoal, ink, and watercolor paints.
For the rest of my themes, I wrote about the history of a certain building. But for this, it's just some random window. So, what could I journal about in the piece that ties this together with the rest of my theme?
Also, should I just finish in charcoal? I started with watercolor and ended up not liking it at all.

Theme Project #4
Here is my project so far. It is basically an extension of last week's project, where I continue to explore photo transfers. The top image is a photo I took/edited of a macaron. I plan to transfer this photo onto the sliver of wood pictured below. Should I edit the photo further before I complete the transfer, or is the image basically done? Also, once the photo is on the wood, should I add another layer on top (maybe dry-brush around the edges to add texture?) Let me know what you think. Thanks
Mythology piece: Merman
Lily~ Meh. I'm kind of happy with this piece. Theme: Mythological creatures with attention to detail, inspired by a significant word. The hand wasn't big enough in the beginning and that threw the entire set of proportions off. Oh well. Ignore my cat. He photo-bombed. And yes, the white stuff is bone. I know I have a weird look on magical creatures. Just ignore it. If you think this is weird........
Q1) Should I add more blood to the water?
Q2) How should I work the tail. I like it, but it needs something else.
Theme Piece 3
This is Ulysses Smith, and he's the third of the four "protagonists" of Letters from a Thief. In this novel I'm trying to create very deep characters with dynamic personalities, altering mindsets and motives, and an overall sense of complexity.
Ulysses is not one of those characters. He's a buff dude with a cybernetic arm that loves 'Murica. That doesn't really change. He's comic relief in a way. But the other comrades he's gotten to know understand that they can't live without him. Or so they keep telling themselves.
Anyway, obviously it's unfinished. I still need to put up some 'Murica related quote and layer up some areas (read: everything ever). I added a black outline to basically everything to sorta make the style of this one seem more like a comic book character, and that's basically what Ulysses is.
Questions are...
1) Was the black outline a good idea?
2) Should I add more dark values? If so tell me where.
Well, have at it. And maybe while I search through the parts of the novel I've written already with his lines, you guys could think of something goofy and 'Murican for the quote to be if I don't find anything.
EDIT: I actually did find something for the quote in the chapters I've already written. I edited it a little to make it flow a bit...and omit the vulgar language.
"Do you know what this flag means? It belonged to the greatest country on this planet! It represents liberty, life, and happiness to everyone who lives on the soil it flies over! It belonged to AMERICA!"

Mira- Theme Piece #3.
Here is my current theme piece. Because my theme is exploring memories with food, I attempted to capture the essence of a faded photograph by using a photo transfer technique. First I baked the cookies (they are macarons), then I took a photo, edited it in photoshop, and transferred it into wooden squares. Unfortunately, the photo quality is kind of bad, so in real life they are much brighter. The top square is in black and white, and they progressively fade to color. Should I attach these in some way? Does anyone have any ideas? I was thinking of connecting them from a chain so they would hang vertically (as pictured above). Also, do you think I need to add another layer of paint, maybe drybrushing over the scratches? Thanks.

Theme Piece 2
Heyo! This is piece number 2 of my theme, which I suppose is "Developing a cast of original novel characters through portraiture and diction." Somebody flag me down if the wording is trash.
This character is Draven Law, a contract killer and the deuteragonist of the series. His main deal is that he's made a lot of mistakes in his life, but he continues his job as a murderer for hire to basically set an example of what not to be. His motives are pretty muh a mystery throughout the novel, so all you really need to know is that he travels around with The Black Fox and has dumb adventures. Whoopie.
Question time. I doubt I could ever do anything to make me think it looks good, but I digress. Basically does the background need more value? And is everything decent on the character himself? Lemme know and at least try to act like responding isn't required for a grade.
EDIT: Got the picture to finally show up. I know I'm gonna lose points anyway. Just what I needed right now, technology. Just what I needed.
Theme Piece Two
Yo it's theme project number 2
Mythology Theme 2 - Sky Dragon
Lily here. Theme: Mythological creatures with attention to detail inspired by a significant word. The word behind this piece is Grace. The swift movement and swift glide through the clouds impresses me and I often stop to watch the birds fly through the sky. I'm considering redoing the watercolor on the art and I want to know if I should watercolor the white clouds at the edge. I'd also like to know if I should add more clouds.
theme piece 2
1. Should I add something to make it appear glossy or nah
2. Should I leave it simple like the one side or add veins and stuff to make it like hardcore and hate myself. Idk
Also yolo. Peace out girlscout.
