Theme project #3

This is a pretty girl I drew and shaded on tracing paper then applied to canvas. I intend to add embroider jewel tears to her eyes to finish the project. Should I do anything to the background over that having it white? Does anyone have any pointers on how to embroider thing (this would be a first for me)? Thanks!

  1. I love the texture!! For the background, it might be cool to do something similar to the background in your accident project with the portrait of the guy. It would be a nice reference. Nothing too dramatic though, because I think it's safe to say that your focal point is gonna be the jewels. I'm not sure what you mean about embroidering the jewels, but I used to buy stick on ones from michael's that they have in cool shapes and colors. They're really easy, you just stick them on like stickers, and they look nice. Can't wait to see it finished!

  2. Texture had me like (o u o), but I think you should still do soft flowers in the background, it could represent delicateness or something, if that's what you're going for. Make it look like a soft grunge tumblr blog background or something

  3. So excited to see the finished product! YES I LOVE asia's idea. You should definitely do that. You could even just create a light pink wash of color in the background to create emphasis on her face.
