Theme 5 Sofija Chroneos

Hey guys, this is another piece centered around my theme of human consciousness and emotion. The idea behind this piece was to portray higher consciousness, or the aspects of consciousness we aren't aware of. I'm still working on filling in the people. Do you guys think drawing the two girls in graphite was a good idea? If not, what should I do instead? How can I bring interest/depth to the background?

  1. Im really digging the piece. I think it would be best if you had deep contrast around the outside of the facial structure to really make the two faces pop but the graphite is a good idea i believe. That has a ton of contrast as it is strict grey values while thebackground is colorful. Neat!

  2. I think if the figures have a lot of values in them, it would make great contrast with the background. I would try to make the colors in the background more bold in order to stand out...meaning less gradiation and a more sudden transition between values.
