My theme is urban landscapes through graffiti and expressive line; I've decided to add a more personal touch that I'm going to be doing places that have meaning to me or a memory associated with it.
Since I was gone for a few days I'm behind as shown. For this piece I'm referring back to a picture I took the first time I ever went to NYC. The viewpoint is looking from the inside of a train window btw the graffiti inside the window will be bright to convey my excitement. The building will be filled in with black hatching and will be pretty simple.
Where the pebble/rocks are is a fence, I'm gonna draw that once I finish the whole piece but I was wondering should I add the fence in a thick acrylic so that it stands out? Also should I keep my idea of the black hatching of the buildings or should I add some color, if so what colors?!Thanks!
I still dont understand the magic behind your perfectly straight colored lines wow. As for the fence, I feel like your choice should be dependent on what you want your focal point to be. If you wanted the fence to be your focal point then dang go ahead and thicken the lines to make it pop. But if you wanted the attention more on something else, I wouldn't do them as thick. And maybe on the buildings you could do some contrasting greens or blues within the hatching? Like little hatching lines of those colors? I dont know. That's what I would do.
ReplyDeleteI like the buildings as black and white. That way the background will really stand out. It looks so cool! Your lines are really tight and the pattern is awesome! Can't wait to see how it turns out!!
ReplyDeleteI would personally try to make the interior border of the train window appear differently from the view outside. It would probably make for some good thematic relevance in the piece. Either through use of a different material or vastly different color pattern from what you see outside.
